Evaluation Question 4.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

When creating my media products i uses lots of different technologies.

Such as Final cut express and live type these two whcih I used to edit and put together my music video. I used live type to have lyrics appear on screen.

I also used programmes like pages and adobe photoshop to create my CD digi-pack and music magazine. I used pages as the template for my CD digi-pack and used photoshop to edit the images that went into my digipack also to create my magazine advert.

To research information for my media product i used different things like google to collect information. And youtube to research my bands previous music videos to see how i could create mine.

Evaluation Question 3.

What have you learned from you audience feedback?

From doing different things to get audience feedback such as a questionaire or asking people on there opinions on my products. Most of my feedback i have got back said that the music video links to the band and the genre of rock. I also quized people on my digipack and my magazine advert and asked them if they could see them as one of the bands actuall ones most of the answers was yes at least 9/10. I also found when people watched my music video they laughed alot due to the content this was a big plus i got from the audience.

I feel with my audience feedback i have been able to make my products a well rounded products to create the piece's that the audience's would want and expect.

Evaluation Question 2.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancilliary texts?

I feel my CD digipack fills its purpose perfectly dueto the fact it tells you what the album is and theband is. I also feel that the digipack followsconventions of normal CD cases. Prior to thisresearched exsisting CD case designs by myartist and created my design along the lines ofa normal rock album. My digipack also links to the magazine advert aswell because due to the guitar images. All of my products link because they have a rock genre. I also feel that my CD digipack links and works perfectly to fit in with the audience of my band. This would be aimed at 15-21 year olds of the rock music pursuasion.I feel the pictures on the CD case look great due to theguitar and drum sticks link to rock music.

I feel my digipack links to my music video links because due to the drumsticks and guitars that feature on the digipackare also in the start of my music video. I feel my magazine advert also links perfectly to my music video and digipack due to the images of guitars and such. However it also links due to the reason that they all fit the rock genre. I feel my magazine advert would be perfect for my target audience due to the reason that the images are young and funky and all link to the genre.

Evaluation Question 1.

In what ways do your music video, CD digipack and music magazine advertisement use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real music videos, CD digipacks and magazine advertisement?

I feel my music video does conform to normal music video's due to the fact that it has a story music video. The music video also links too the rock genre due to the outfits my actors wore such as skinny jeans and black hoodies.

However due to the happyness of my rock music video. This does not really link to the genre of rock. Due to the fact that usually rock video's are different to my one. I also feel it takes the mick out of the song in some ways such as instead of the induendoes its a comical lollipop hunt music video.

I feel my CD digipack conforms with normal music videos because the pictures on the cd case link and are much like the cd cases of my band from previous albums. I feel my music CD digipack would do exactly what is needed by displaying the album and drawing attension to the CD.

I also feel my magazine advert conforms and challenges the normal conventions of a magazine advert such as the advert has normal things on such as the front of the CD case also the date of release and websites. I also feel it challenges the conventions due to the fact that instead of one picture on the advert it was a mixture of different pictures to display the album name which is memorys.

My music video also conforms to usual music videos such as lip syncing and camera shots also mise-en-scene which all of these different things link my music video to normal conventions of normal music videos. Also with lyrics appearing of the screen.

Exporting my music video

Today i exported in my video from final cut to quicktime movie and now i am starting on my dvd using idvd. However i have to create a directors commentry over the video.

After feeling that i had completely finished my production i changed it slightly and changed it a bit not much just finialising the music video making it more advanced.

Today i managed to completely finish editing today however i need to add the song name and logo after the easter holidays when i am back. I also exported it.

Today i carried on editing and managed to almost finish it today i just need a few hours and it will be done.

Today i carried on editing but however I today i remembered my music so when editing today it became so much more productive and i got most of my footage almost completely edited which i very much am pleased with.

After watching all my footage again I have decided it is gonna be really good hopefully it will look really good edited together. Today I started to edit my whole production however while I was trying to edit it i forgot to put my music on to the computer so i did as much as I could do.

filming .

Today I planned with all of my actors and actresses to meet at my house to film my whole media video on the day. While waiting for everyone to turn up the main actresses in my media production was unable to make it to my filming. Due to this I had to change my idea for my video instead of having men chasing a girl with a lollipop. However this did not turn out quit right so instead I have two people on a lollipop hunt. They are looking bout for lollipops they are running about e.t.c then they end up finding them at a house. Once they found them they dance are really happy with themselves. I believe this video with be really happy and comical this will hopefully entertain the audience.

Filming .

Today i filmed some of my friends eating and licking lollipops also them miming to the lyrics of the song. I am not sure if i will be able to use all of the footage because some of it is not very good but i believe i will be able to get a few good shots from the filming.

Yesterday evening I did some test filming shots of lollipop's and eating lollipop's this turned out quit well so tomorrow I am going to film some friends miming to my songs and them eating lollipop's.

Location Scouting

Today I went out location scouting. This was to find the perfect place to film my media. I toke alot of pictures even though i may not use al these different locations. I feel i will mainly use rockingham road and charles street also pleasure park. These different place should help me have a really good music video.

Ideas for filming

I want my media video to turn out as a story of a girl getting a lollipop and a group of boys chasing her. Also I will have them chasing her up and down quit alot of streets. Then i will have a twist at the end of the video that the boys are not chasing the girl they are chasing the lollipop because they want to eat it.

Today

Today I started to work on the lyrics appearing upon the screen inbetween the the shots. I managed to create the first sentence at the beginning on the song. I am very pleased with this.

Lollipop lyrics test

This is a test for the lyrics appearing around the person singing the words. I feel this could work quit well to add a comical but sophisticated look to the shoots.

Magazine Advert

This is my magazine advert I decided to take the idea of the album name The Moment and try to portray this by having a medially of different pictures of different items and things to show a moment. I feel like the magazine advert worked amazingly because it is so random. All of the different colours and pictures show that there is a moment captured in the images. I have a had audience feed back on my magazine advert that the colours and pictures draw in the viewer and make them want to see what it is about. Also that the advert fits the genre of the band.

Final Digipack

This is my digipack. I really enjoy the way the CD cover would work i feel the back of the case would have the music and song names but is also interesting with the playing guitar picture. Also the front cover of the rose that is black that just shows the band perfectly. Also the inside picture under the CD where the drum sticks are photographed it sort of looks like a hand putting two fingers up swearing towards the audience. I had audience feed back on the digipack packaging and they said that the pictures and colours represented the genre is very much rock. Also that the pictures and design fits the band completely.
