The genre of this band is Alternative Rock. The codes and conventions of alternative rock is such things as clothes which the artists wear such as skinny jeans is mostly featured in the video's also tops would probably contain leather jackets. If I was to
find while watching a alternative rock video I would mostly expect to find a performance based video such as The All American Rejects video The Wind Blows is a performance video's however it also has a story in the video as well. In most alternative rock video's it is performance but with a story. The pictures show the parts of the video where the band performs then the parts where the lead singer is involved in the story line.
I would say in most alternative rock videos the band is in the video a lot. Also love and leaving and sexual scenes are shown and featured in alternative rock video's a lot such as Jimmy Eat World - The Middle this shows a performance video with sexual connotations.
